OVERVIEW The Software Developer is a member of the Custom Development Team within the Textron Systems Information Technology department located in Hunt Valley, MD (near Baltimore). The Software Developer will work with the various stakeholders to create full stack development applications to meet critical business requirements. This will include requirements gathering, scoping, conceptualizing, designing and developing new applications; provide support and troubleshoot applications based on user feedback; working in a fast pace environment with multiple departments and troubleshooting complex systems. JOB REQUIREMENTS • Develop scripts, programs and applications per specifications • Participate in gathering and clarifying software requirements • Be able to document code and utilize source code to create a clean history of code changes. • Participate in architecture, implementation, design, administration, maintenance, documentation and support of assigned applications. • Participate in daily stand ups and scrum meetings. • Communicate and coordinate with the department and the business to minimize impact during maintenance and upgrade windows. Ensure thorough planning, testing and approval from the business before any transition or implementation. • Research, evaluate, monitor and recommend emerging technology and leads investigation and adaptation of beneficial data technologies. • Partner with vendors and customers to ensure requirements are gathered and documented • Work with functional users and business analysts to develop business solutions • Test and debug software components • Revise programs to eliminate errors and/or improve functionality • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications • Knowledge of web and mobile application development methodologies • Working knowledge of Swift, especially with the following frameworks: UIKit, CoreData, CoreBluetooth, Network, Foundations. • Intermediate Knowledge of at least one of the following languages/frameworks: Swift, ASP .NET Core, Angular, C#, Java • Experience with source control managements. Bitbucket/git is a plus. • Programming skills in SQL and PL/SQL • Demonstrated ability to execute the stated job requirements • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse functional groups • Self-motivated and takes initiative to go beyond the minimum requirements • Strong interpersonal relationship skills • Communicate effectively with peers and other teams • Strong analytical skills • Ability to prioritize • Ability to adapt to new and different assignments EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Bachelors in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent. • Three (3) plus years of software development experience preferred. • Experience leading projects and working in a team environment. • Must exhibit the ability to effectively interface with peers, employees, management and customers within the organization. • Must exhibit the ability to understand a wide range of business processes. • Must exhibit a high proficiency in analytical and problem solving skills.
