Summary: Machinist will work in a prototype, development, and production support machine shop responsible for making one-off, precision details. Advanced Technology Lab Machinist primarily will be responsible for the following: Operating 3-axis CNC vertical mill, which includes reviewing N/C code Setting up tooling, and performing all machining operations Must also be able to operate manual vertical mill, brake press, bandsaw, and basic shop tools. Requirements HS Diploma/GED Equivalent. Equivalent of (4) years high school plus (4) years trades training. Min. of 10 years of relevant experience. • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, understand GD&T, and follow manufacturing process plans. • Machine variety of materials – plastics/ composites/ aluminum/ carbon steel/ stainless steel/ titanium/ inconel. • Review N/C programming code and provide feedback to programmer if modifications are required. • independently setup tooling and prepare workpiece per provided requirements. Manual lathe experience a plus.
