Position Description: Under direct supervision, perform installation and wiring of electrical components on company produced equipment. Essential Functions: • Read and interpret basic wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions • Assemble basic electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment • Label, wire and connect switch boxes and control panel terminal boards from basic wiring diagrams • Check wiring for proper coding and termination; check for shorts, grounds, and continuity • Assist with the detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor • Attend team meetings; may provide input on quality, cost, or production issues • Regularly and effectively communicate and interact with other team members • Regular and predictable attendance at the worksite and on any assigned shift or work schedule is required for this position, as is the ability to work frequent overtime; this is not a job that can be performed remotely • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures • Maintain work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition • Other duties as assigned Job Specifications: • Beginning knowledge of industrial electrical concepts and principles; basic understanding of electrical components and use in industrial design of cabinets • Ability to operate various hand and power tools properly, safely, efficiently and effectively • Must be able to read and interpret basic schematics • Highly team oriented • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to multi-task Required Education and Experience: • High school or equivalent • Typically has 0-2 years of experience in electrical assembly Supervisory/Responsibility: Varies by location; BWPS - reports to Assembly or Production Supervisor; this position does not directly supervise other employees Work Environment: Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location. Physical Demands: Physical effort is required to handle tools/materials and perform assembly operations; assembly operations require alertness and activity and the use of continuous mental and visual focus. Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position with frequent overtime. Must be able, available and willing to work more than 40 hours per week, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Travel: Occasional domestic and/or global travel may be required for this position.
