Description and requirements Essential Functions • Set up and run CNC machines (lathes, milling) making necessary adjustments to software programs to minimize downtime and errors in parts production. • Finish or deburr manufactured parts using various equipment and devices to ensure a smooth finish and proper fit. • Measure finished parts or those in production to assess progress and ensure match to program to print drawing. • Cut and sand various materials and parts to drawing specifications • Work hours FT 7am-3:30pm • Other duties as assigned or required Filamatic provides reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Education and Experience • High school diploma/GED; Associated degree with course work in automated manufacturing technology preferred • Machinist apprenticeship to journeyman experience; Two (2) years specialized experience preferred. • NC/CNC certification preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to read drawings, schematics, sketches and understand oral instructions • Good understanding of all machine shop principles • Ability to edit programs using G-code, troubleshooting programs • Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC machining centers • Capability of using machine shop measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators, etc. • Basic math skills in algebra, geometry, trigonometry • Ability to interpret technician drawings and geometric drawings • Ability to set up and operate a full range of machines and equipment in accordance with safety protocols • Ability to measure (where and how) using proper tools. Travel Requirement • No travel is required (% travel) Physical Requirements • Job requires standing, working with hands and lifting up to 50 pounds 75% of the time; walking, sitting, talking/hearing, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; reaching with hands or arms. • Job requires use of CNC lathe/mill, hand tools, air and surface grinder, belt sander, horizontal band saw, cutoff miter saw, hydraulic and drill press, calipers, micrometers, bore and threaded gauges. Environmental Conditions • Job works near/with moving mechanical parts and machine shop equipment more than 75% of the time; sharp edges/parts and emission of liquid approximately 90% of the time. • Loud noise level.
