MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for an exceptional Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our team in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The HSE Manager is responsible for the management, administration and continuous improvement of all activities related to Health, Safety, Environment, and Security programs at two sites in Hunt Valley. This includes assessment and implementation of any absent programs identified and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations. Provides HSE leadership, training, and operational support to all levels of the organization and across all functional groups. Ensures all HSE processes and procedures are implemented (in accordance with Coty worldwide) policies and standardized across the 2 Coty Hunt Valley sites. Tracks company health and safety metrics and uses the data to identify and to reduce risk. Provides technical expertise to Engineering and Facilities on projects involving plant installation/construction, equipment design, and hazardous assessments. Which ensures compliance and helps validate safe construction and installation of plant and equipment. Assists in aspects of incident investigation including verifying root cause and approving the implementation of preventative actions. Implements and maintains an environmental health and safety program involving hazard identification evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance. Ensures emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations; Annual auditing and sufficiency checks are performed. Maintains all Federal, State, and Local permits in current and valid condition. Maintains Chemical Hazardous waste program including chemical accumulation, area inspections, MSDS system and hazardous materials right to know training. Performs industrial hygiene activities including chemical monitoring and any other monitoring programs as necessary. Prepares and understands regulatory agency submissions including but not limited to EPA Tier II, SARA 313, RCRA Biennial, OSHA Logs/reports. Maintains current working knowledge of all applicable HSE regulations and all necessary training and licensing to function as a signing authority on all HSE matters. Drive and deliver Environmental aspects – improve the Hunt Valley Site carbon footprint by delivering a program of sustainability projects: Works on problems of technical and legal scope requiring critical thinking and interaction with internal and external technical professionals along with individuals representing official agencies. Exercises broad judgment within generally defined practices and policies. Is the primary subject matter expert on all HSE topics. A key member of Hunt Valley’s Leadership team – providing leadership and technical support to the leadership team. Responsible for a team to deliver the HSE program. Direct supervision of consultants, contractors and subcontractors used to deliver the HSE program in Hunt Valley. THE COTY IDEAL FIT BS with 10+ year’s related experience in an HSE leadership role; safety, engineering, or equivalent science degree. Previous experience related to the enforcement of federal and state regulations OSHA, EPA is desirable. Maryland experience preferred. Experience of dealing with the complexities of the beauty-care and food-care industry preferred. Previous working relationships with OSHA is desirable. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, government officials, major customers, and senior executives within the organization. Experience creating and managing a budget including resource allocation and priority setting. Successful leadership and hands-on direction of HSE issues in major operating facilities and business functions that support divisional projects. Experience in a globally and technically diverse workplace. Demonstrated ability to develop, motivate and direct teams in an organization. Experienced at developing and implementing customer-focused services and programs. Previous experience of delivering Environmental/sustainability program.
